At MENtal MATTERs, we know that Black men carry a lot—and too often, carry it alone. That’s why we created Chop It Up (CIU), a space built for everyday men with everyday problems. Whether you’re trying to make sense of life, deal with stress, or just need a place to be heard, CIU is here for you. It’s not therapy, but it’s therapeutic. It’s real talk, with real solutions, from brothers who get it.
Here’s how you can tap in:
These are our signature face-to-face gatherings—safe, casual, and real. Pull up a seat and speak your truth. Sessions are led by trained facilitators who know how to hold space and keep it grounded.
Want to host or start a Chop It Up session in your own space? Contact us to learn how.
Some men don’t do groups — and that’s cool. You can schedule a one-on-one or just reach out when you need someone to talk to. These are confidential, supportive convos with a trained team member — no pressure, no judgment, no therapy. If it turns out you need more, we’ll make sure you get to the right help.
Can’t meet in person? No problem. Our virtual CIU sessions bring the same energy to a virtual room. You can log in from wherever you are and still feel that connection, that brotherhood, that accountability. Show up how you are—no pressure, just presence.
Want to talk when it works for you? The Chop It Up Forums are 24/7 conversations happening right on our website. Share a thought, ask a question, or just scroll through and see what other brothers are dealing with. This is where everyday problems meet everyday wisdom.
Whether you’re talking about fatherhood, relationships, mental health, money, or just life in general—Chop It Up is your space to be heard, seen, and supported.
Because when Black men talk, heal, and build together—we grow stronger, together.
